Snow on the way home

On the way home from cherry camping, we found a little snow to play in.

We stopped for a sandwich and a snowball fight.

Cherry Time

 We picked cherries this weekend.

 Lots and lots of cherries.
We canned lots of them in the campground.
Everything got really messy. The picnic table looked
very macabre.
We did whole cherries, savory whole cherries with wine, and cherry jam.
This is my share of what we canned.
I think we also brought home 40 - 50 pounds of fresh cherries.

I love you Dad

I love you for being a great role model; serving the needs of your country, even though it meant making sacrifices for your family. I love you for accepting new challenges at every stage of your life. I love you for never being dissuaded when there was not a clear solution, and coming up with one your own. I love you for being there for me when it really counted. I love you for letting me drive the hour and a half home from Lexington, in the convertible, when I had my learners permit (and you fell asleep 5 minutes into the journey). I love you for taking such an active interest in my son and his education. I love you for always trying to satisfy my curious mind.

And, I especially love you, for giving me your sense of humor.

13 Mondays

13 is the number of Mondays until school starts again (I think).  For me, that is 9 Mondays of Summer camp, 2 Mondays of vacation, and maybe I counted wrong.

I spent this Monday in the woods with this guy.
