Staggering genius

My sister is amazing. She called me just before we left for Michigan with an idea for paper mache Easter eggs with a little something inside. Pinata easter eggs. I thought it sounded cool. We celebrated three days later and this is what she came up with.

she even made a treat version that didn't require cracking.

She had hotwheels in each one for Odin.

Like I said she is amazing.

Yes, Michigan

Odin and I have been on the road this week in Michigan, his spring break. On the way here we stopped for the night outside of Chicago and got in to the hotel too late for our customary swim in the pool, so the next morning we took a lovely dip and had the pool all to ourselves.

Some highlights from the trip,

my sister ordering her wedding dress (!!!!!)
AND picking out bridesmaid dresses (mine is ordered !)

My dad and I started building the photo wall for the wedding, with intentions to finish it in July

Odin learned how to button his PJ shirt

Odin popping bubbles with fly swatters, yes swatters, one for each hand

A trip to the French Bakery for my yearly fix

Playing with my old My Little Ponies

great week.

Follow-up

Volvo started up just fine this morning. Strange indeed. Anyone know why our water heater sounds like a humpback whale all of a sudden?

Ironic

Earlier today Odin and I were headed to the Y. But the car wouldn't start.. or rather it started then stalled immediately. The car, THE VOLVO.
So we might go for a cruise in Fritz and see how the old chap is doing. He has been parked for a couple of months it was just easier to only deal with two in the cold.
Maybe the volvo knew how excited I was getting to drive Fritz again and got a little envious. Maye they are just cars and have no feelings.
Or do they?

Out of town

Like we need any more friends that live out of town. Johno and I had a grown-ups weekend in Seattle with some friends he knows from work. It was fantastic. Great company, weather, plenty to do and wonderful food.
It was great to be able to go on a ski trip with Johno and skiing with him. It was the first time in a really long time that I skied anything bigger than the Midwest has to offer, only problem is I lament that the season here is decidedly over, the forecast the rest of the week is for rain . . .
Here's the highlight reel:

Odin and Sampson spent the weekend up North with grandma and grandpa - splashing in puddles, getting soaked, loving every minute.
