Have you ever?

Have you ever seen something on the internet and had to try it for yourself to see if it was real? Me too, so many times, me too. Recently, I saw something about hypnotizing a chicken. You hold the chicken with its beak on the ground and then draw a line extending about 8" in front if it.  It sounded too ridiculous to be true, but I had to try it.

If it is true, how do you know when your chicken is hypnotized? Have you ever seen a chicken hold still for more than four seconds?  I haven't either. That is proof enough for me.

A hoof boot in a mud hole

On Monday, I went on a trail ride with a friend before she moved away to greener pastures.

 We had a great ride, with one tiny exception. The mud hole that we had to cross through to get to the nice trails, stole one of my hoof boots. "My" horse, Zen, was fine for the ride, but I did dismount and walk him through the rocky areas.  Just a little background info, the horses do not wear metal horseshoes, so we use hoof boots when we go on trails to protect their feet.

I had decided to just buy new boots, because this:

 is the general area where it was lost. I went back for the boot today and searched in the mud for about 10-15 minutes. I had an idea of where it might have been, but I was pretty far off.

 I never did see it, but I felt it under the water and was able to get it free from the mud. Yippie!

 

Learning the Ropes

I am amazed how much fun can be found with a lariat and a sense of humor.  Over the course of an evening, I became fairly competent roping stationary objects such as: chairs, recycling cans, road signs etc.

Weekend Vacation

Our ski season got off to a late start this year. Then, once it finally started to snow, we were in Florida on vacation. We have had a number of great days and weekends skiing this winter, but the last weekend we were up was by far the best. What made it so great? For one sunshine! It was beautifully sunny and warm. Also, there was hardly anyone there. We also did some pretty great tailgating in the RV lot. It was such a great weekend, that we have turned down other opportunities to go skiing because we want to hang onto that last weekend.
